Abstract

The article discusses the environmentally negative aspects of wind energy farms, emphasizing the increase in bat deaths. According to the article, bats, prairie chickens, and other birds are negatively impacted and sometimes killed by wind turbines. Comments from bat researcher Paul Cryan regarding the increase in the number of bats killed by wind turbines are included. The environmentally positive aspects of wind energy farms are contrasted with the negative aspects. The article also discusses steps that could be taken to limit the negative impact of wind turbines.
