Abstract

This essay takes a look at various issues facing the relationship between gender and technology. It argues that while technology offers a wide breadth of information to those involved in women's studies research, technological contexts stressing masculine ideologies remains. The academic journal "Women's Studies in Communication" has published several articles that look at how identity, interaction and communication all present characteristics based on gender. One article explores mastery of video games and women while another article takes a look at the digital divide.
