Abstract

Description of a fire on the S.S. Duilio on March 14, 1928. The fire is presumed to have been started by film catching in the gate. The wooden booth the projector was housed in quickly caught fire, as did 6 reels of film not in safety cans. Manheimer describes the process of putting out the fire and calls for more stringent safety measures for showing films on ships.
