Abstract

A highly sensitive and selective fluorimetric method has been developed for the determination of thiocyanate with 2',7'-dichlorofluorescein (λ(ex)=508nm, λ(em)=524nm) at pH 5.8-6.7. The calibration graph is linear over the range 1.0-60ngml-1SCN-. The detection limit is 1.0ngml-1SCN-. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of thiocyanate ion in saliva and serum. Copyright (C) 1999 Elsevier Science B.V.
