Abstract
This chapter deals with production planning in the apparel industry. A brief background about production systems and various types of production systems are discussed. An overview of supply chain management and its activities are discussed. A general overview of inventory management and improvements through lean manufacturing has been highlighted. New tools developed in the production planning are also covered.
