Abstract

A sizeable percentage of OMG activity is focused on standardizing services and facilities in specific vertical markets through Domain Task Forces. This paper presents a contribution to this process in the e-learning domain where an important standardization effort is currently being carried out. We describe the different stages involved in the definition of software services for specific application domains using an MDA-oriented methodology proposed by the authors. The outcome of the application of this methodology is four specifications for distributed and interoperable high-level brokerage environments where learning objects can be publicized, located and retrieved. © 2003 Elsevier Science B.V.
