The article presents a reprint of the article "The history of education and the study of educational administration," by Helen Sungaila, which appeared in the 1982 issue of the "Journal of Educational Administration and History." It explores the significance of the study of the history of education to the creation of educational administration as a discipline. Moreover, it also discusses the paradigmatic elements constituting the major impediment to the appreciation of this discipline.
