Abstract

This exploratory study examines the awareness of human services professionals of the problem of human trafficking, and the related federal and state policy responses in Illinois. The purposive sample consists of representatives of member organizations of the Illinois Rescue and Restore Coalition. The findings reveal that the participants' level of awareness of the trafficking policies is correlated with their involvement in trafficking-related trainings. Implications for policy, practice, and research are discussed. © 2012 Copyright Taylor and Francis Group, LLC.
