An integrated model is proposed to understand and to predict the properties of polymer modified cementitious materials. The reciprocal influences between the polymer particles and the cement hydrates are discussed and implemented in the model. The influence of a lower drying rate on the film formation process as well as the retardive effect of the polymer particles and polymer film the cement hydration are discussed. The results demonstrate the coincidence of the polymer film formation process and cement hydration in the case of dry curing conditions.
