Abstract

In this study, the modelling of supercritical carbon dioxide extraction of sage leaves at different temperatures between the range of 40-60 °C and jatropha seeds at 50 °C are studied. These extraction processes are modelled using modified Reverchon-Sesti Osseo model equation at different temperature ranges. The influence of temperature on the total extract yield of sage are investigated. It is found that the modified Reverchon-Sesti Osseo model equation provides a good fit with respect to the experimental yield of total extracts of sage leaves and jatropha seeds over the entire range of experimental conditions explored.
