KONSEP RUANG TRADISIONAL JAWA DALAM KONTEKS BUDAYA

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss the mystery of the Javanese dwelling holding emphasis on the space concept through the cultural knowledge of the Javanese people%2C comprising of beliefs and rituals that appear to be closely related to both the space orientation and the space configuration. There are a lot of evidences that support the fact that the space in the architecture of the Javanese traditional dwelling is not value-free. Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Tulisan ini mencoba mengulas misteri rumah tinggal orang Jawa%2C dengan penekanan pada konsep ruang yang terjadi melalui pengetahuan budaya yang dimiliki oleh orang Jawa. Pengetahuan budaya yang terdiri dari kepercayaan dan ritual terlihat mempunyai kaitan yang erat dengan konsep ruang yang terjadi mulai dari orientasi ruang maupun konfigurasi ruang.
