Abstract

Data on 259 adults (19 to 60 years old) belonging to a general population sample of Buenos Aires city and its suburban area are presented. Participants answered a scale developed to measure psychological well-being (PWB) and a scale of Sense of Coherence (SOC). Factorial analysis shows that PWB is composed by four factors (projects, autonomy, psychosocial relations, control/acceptance). A reliability coefficient of 0.70 was obtained. Correlation between PWB and SOC (0.60) suggests that both assessment techniques measure similar constructs, related with a salutogenic approach (Positive Psychology).
