Abstract

The Lafayette Parish School System is struggling to find teachers for certain subjects, leading to a critical shortage declaration. However, Superintendent Donald Aguillard said the critical designation is routine and is often done by school districts. The move allows the school system to further advertise the positions and hire retired teachers.
