Abstract

Herein, large pore mesostructured cellular silica foam coated magnetic oxide composites (MO@MCFs) with multilamellar vesicle shells (MO@MLVs) were obtained, which exhibited a large pore (>10 nm), strong magnetic response (38 emu g−1), excellent protein adsorption and slow drug-release capacity. © 2013 The Royal Society of Chemistry.
