Chartier (Davidson College) has produced an interesting and well-written little book. While linear algebra is at the heart of each of the applications, the concepts required are mostly rudimentary. The theory is developed to the extent required in each application or, if too complex, it is assumed the reader has access to programs that will do the computations required. To that end, the book is connected to a MOOC through Davidson College (Applications of Linear Algebra, Parts 1-2 via edX).
