Abstract

A teaching project on integrating electronic feedback and feedforward between summative assessments was implemented as part of the advanced Exploration Geophysics undergraduate module at Birkbeck, University of London, UK, to link summative assessments of students. The main aim of the module is to introduce interdisciplinary research contents and skills in Geophysics. The main teaching of the module took place in the first academic term and one summative assignment based on reviewing was to be submitted by the end of January 2011. The final written examination took place toward the end of the academic year in May 2011 and an electronic study package with feedback on the summative assignment and feedforward to the written examination was made available to the students in the form of a website as a bridge between the two summative assessments.
