Abstract

Lateral transport through a quantum dot confined under the tip of a gate finger has been investigated. The observed conductance resonances originating from a small number of electrons in the quantum dot have been analysed in dependence of the applied magnetic field and temperature. Pairs of conductance resonances show a similar behaviour which is understood in the one-particle picture due to the spin-degeneracy of the dot states. © 1993.
