Abstract

The information in this book is grouped into 3 main chapters under the headings: general characteristics of malaria epidemics; early detection and control of epidemics; and epidemiological surveillance, forecasting and prevention of epidemics. Data on a variety of aspects related to malaria epidemics (e.g. malaria cases reported in Palestine, epidemic malaria death rate due to Anopheles albimanus, and malaria incidence in Costa Rica compared with banana production) is included in the form of 19 graphs.
