Abstract

A collection of mammals made by the author in northern Iraq during 1954 is described. Miniopterus schreibersi pulcher N. Iraq, is described, differing from the typical form and from M. s. pallidus Thomas by extreme pale grey color. The following mammals are here recorded from Iraq for the first time[long dash]Meriones peraicua persicus, Cricetulus migratorius, Apodemus sylvaticus, Microtus socialis, Spalax ehrenbergi, Sciurus anomalus pallescens, Crocidura suaveolens, Erinaceus europaeus, Miniopterus schreibersi pulcher and Eptesicus serotinus turcomanus.
