Abstract

The invention relates to a method and an app. for measuring humidity in a H2O2-rich environment. The app. comprises a protective catalytic redn. filter and an evaluation unit for correcting the measured values for humidity and for calcg. the dew point of the mixt. and other humidity-derived variables. The method for detn. of the partial pressures of H2O(g) and H2O2 in a measured gas involves the following steps: (A) measuring of a temp. of the measured gas, (B) measuring of a relative humidity by means of a humidity sensor which comprises a reducing protective cap; the measured relative humidity is increased by a humidity amt. that is produced by redn. of the H2O2 present in the measured gas to H2O(g), (C) calcg. of an increased partial pressure of H2O(g) from the measured values for temp. and relative humidity; the calcd. increased partial pressure represents the sum of partial pressures of the H2O(g) and H2O2 contained in the measured gas, (D) calcg. of the individual partial pressures of the H2O(g) and H2O2 contained in the measured gas from the increased partial pressure and an addnl. parameter representing a ratio of the partial pressures of the H2O(g) and H2O2 contained in the measured gas or a derived variable.
