Abstract

Objective: The objectives of this study are to: (1) evaluate patient factors and patient satisfaction with a medication synchronization program and (2) evaluate the utility of a medication list provided as part of the medication synchronization program. Methods: This is a prospective, convenience sample study to evaluate patient satisfaction with an independent pharmacy medication synchronization program, SyncRx+. The program was started 1 year ago to help patients manage their medications by getting all of their monthly refills at the same time. The study population consists of 128 patients older than 18 years of age enrolled in the SyncRx+ program. Patient demographics to be collected will include gender, age, number of medications, how the patient receives the medications (pickup, mail/delivery, or both), and how long the patient has been enrolled in the program. Patient satisfaction with the program and utility of the medication list will be measured using a 5-point Likert scale. The satisfaction survey and a letter detailing the study will be placed with the patient's medications, either when ready for pickup or sent with the patient's medications on delivery, along with a postage-paid envelope to send the survey back to the pharmacy. Data will be analyzed using descriptive and nonparametric statistics.
