The article reports on research conducted to compare a presurgical rehabilitation program that used perturbation training and quadriceps strengthening with one that used only quadriceps strengthening in patients who had had anterior cruciate ligament reconstructive surgery. Researchers evaluated patients six months after surgery and found that quadriceps strength was increased in subjects from both programs and that increased knee excursion was seen in those who received perturbation training.
