Abstract

LiderA is a voluntary Portuguese system that intends to assess the sustainable buildings. It is been in development since 2003 and this year it certified the first five Portuguese buildings. Besides a brief explanation of LiderA approach and certification cases, this paper presents other possible applications of this assessment system, in order to lead environmental management in building to sustainable management. © 2007 The authors and IOS Press.
