Abstract

ML(M = Fe, Co, Cr, L = 8 - quinolinol, salicylic acid) complexes have been encapsulated in zeolite Y by in situ zeolite synthesis method. FTIR and UV-vis measurements showed that the spectra of the products extracted by alcohol have specific absorption peaks of ML complexes, demonstrating that ML were successfully encaged in zeolite Y. By tracing the whole crystallization process with XRD, it was found that in situ encapsulation of different ML complexes has strong influences on the amount of the encapsulated ML and crystallization of zeolite Y. In addition, as a model reaction cyclohexane oxidation was used to investigate the catalytic performances of ML/Y, it was shown that ligands, particularly central metal cations, significantly influence cyclohexane conversion and product selectivity.
