Abstract

Simple fact that Without water, there would be no life". Though we have moved a long way from traditional approach, both in terms of technology and management in the matter of drinking water supply but the increasing population has exerted tremendous pressure and stress on this natural resource. Urbanization and industrialization has bred enormous pollution into the fresh water system, i.e. Rivers, lakes and oceans. The alarming deterioration in the water quality has gone beyond comprehension. Potability of water is in jeopardy and public health hazards looming large. Recognizing the magnitudes of the problems, aspects and prospects, this natural resource need greater attention. The book "Waste Water Management" discusses about waste water treatment, distribution and its management. It is an attempt to explore most of the aspects related with waste water treatment and distribution systems. It is believed that it would be beneficial to all the interested scholars working in this and allied fields."
