The authors detail how they handled a request to revise and resubmit an academic paper they had submitted for publication. The first order of business was to understand the reviewers' criticisms and allow for open expression among themselves of any emotional responses. Next they organized reviewers' comments according to area of concern and delegated responsibility among themselves for addressing them, with one person serving as an overall project manager. Once all reviewer comments were responded to in one fashion or another and the paper appropriately revised, the authors were able to resubmit it.
