Relative predissociation rates of OH (A (2) Sigma(+), v'=3) have been determined for N' up to 17 by simultaneously measuring laser-induced fluorescence excitation and cavity ring down absorption in the same experimental setup. The results are in overall agreement with calculated predissociation rates by Yarkony J, Chem, Phys. 97, 1838 (1992), but show a stronger increase of the predissociation rate with increasing N'. The obtained values for the quantum yield can be used in the application of the laser-induced predissociative fluorescence detection technique in combustion diagnostics.
