In this article the authors discusses aspects of Internet use and digital media in Asia. It is noted that in Asia as a whole growth in the use of the Internet has grown at a significant rate but that there are wide variations in online participation among Asian nations. A variety of topics are addressed including the number of Internet users in India and China, efforts on the part of the government of Malaysia to expand the use of high speed broadband communications, and the employment of social networks in China.
