Abstract

Supported by data from forty-five cases of product development with varying degrees of success, the concept of product champion and his-role in the innovation process is explored in this article. Problems as well as the desirable qualities of a successful product champion are examined and organizational factors conducive to innovation are identified. © 1974, The Regents of the University of California.
