Abstract

Reading the territory : towards a regional geography aware of our daily life. — This paper deals with a new conception of regional geography integrating behavioural and humanistic approaches. If we want to understand the sense of place and the roots of human practices, we need to be more open to intuition, to the links between signifier and signified and to the symbolics aspects of our daily life.L'objectif, dans ce plaidoyer pour une géographie régionale attentive au vécu des hommes, est de montrer la richesse d'une lecture intériorisée de l'aventure humaine. Cette géographie doit être capable de parler de la Terre comme d'une province du Cosmos; elle est récit sensible, ouvert à l'intuition, à la variété des rapports signifié-signifiants et ainsi au sens de nos vies quotidiennes.
