Abstract

The consumerization of IT focuses on how enterprises will be affected by new technologies which are brought into the work environment by private owners —rather than being deployed by IT departments. For a long time, Gartner has considered this to be one of the most influential trends in the technology sector, and we have now reached a tipping point. We are all consumers, and businesses—whether they interact directly with end users or only with other businesses —have employees who are also consumers and who bring their experiences and expectations into the working environment on a daily basis.
