Abstract

The shear stiffness of stud shear connections in composite beams has been derived from the analysis of 116 push tests; these tests include eight new push tests in which reverse and uni-directional cyclic loads were applied. The method predicts the slip when the shear load is first applied to a connection, the slip during a cycle of load, and it predicts the permanent set caused by a cycle of load. © 1986.
