We describe a new technique for optical pump-probe measurements at
femtosecond excited surfaces. By combining time-resolved microscopy with
cylindrical focusing of the pump, complete mapping of the time and
fluence dependence of laser-induced optical changes becomes possible in
a single-guise experiment.
