Abstract

In situ surface FTIR was used to study the adsorption of sulfate and bisulfate on Au surfaces. The ratios of the species and water reorientation is influenced by the potential. The effects of underpotentially deposited Cu on the Au is also discussed, and results are explained in terms of electrosttic considerations and pH.
