Abstract

Information technologies have already become the critical tools of the strategy execution and drive in the enterprises. In the strategic information system era, the alignment degree between IT strategy and enterprise strategy directly determines the effectiveness of the application of the information technologies, and has a huge influence on the enterprises. According to McFarlan's strategic grid and Henderson's strategic alignment model, bases on four different kinds of strategic alignment viewpoints, this paper proposes a new strategic alignment method with rather good universality and strong feasibility when the idea that different industries have their different demands on IT is considered,. The application of this method is helpful to improve the alignment level of the IT strategy and the enterprise strategic in different types of enterprises. © 2008 IEEE.
