We review recent advances in the area of composite sandwich modeling, sensitivity analyses, optimiza- tion techniques and applications, with the focus on structural- acoustic problems. The optimization of sandwich structures is with respect to passive design parameters, such as mate- rial constants, geometric parameters, cellular core geome- try and boundary conditions. KEYWORDS:
