Lately, the globalization and massification of higher education offerinvolved more and more e-learning techniques inside universities. Thearticle brings a perspective on our analyses of different trends inonline education, especially MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses). Ourresearch raised some questions, which are answered in this article, suchas: What are the most important players/MOOCs? How can educational videocontent be classified? We analyse the technological particularities ofMOOCs and focus more on what we think to be one of the main pillars ofe-learning, the video lectures, offering our findings, together withrecommendations for future MOOC creators.
