Abstract

This research want to present what the religious doctrine of the mosque community included the way and mind orientation could be supposed influence in the architecture typhology of mosque. Qualitative descriptive research method is used based on syncronic and diacronic approach with three steps: generic typhology, genetic morphology, and holistic comparison. The result of research shown that Nahdlatul Ulama mosques typhology is reflecting the traditionality of architecture, and vise verse Muhammadiyah mosques typhology is reflecting the modernity of architecture. Finally the study concludes that the specific differences of the mosque architecture typhology due to the religious doctrine differences.Abstract in Bahasa Indonesia : Penelitian ini bermaksud mendeskripsikan apakah faham keagamaan masyarakat pendukung masjid yang didalamnya menyangkut pula cara dan orientasi berfikir, turut mempengaruhi bentukan tipologi arsitektur masjid. Metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dengan pendekatan penelitian sinkronik-diakronik; dalam tiga langkah generik tipologi, generik morfologi, dan holistik komparasi. Hasil penelitian pada kasus masjid yang diteliti dan tidak dapat digeneralisasi pada kasus lain, menunjukkan bahwa tipologi masjid Nahdlatul Ulama mencerminkan tradisionalitas arsitektur masjid, dan sebaliknya tipologi masjid Muhammadiyah menampilkan modernitas arsitektur masjid. Artinya terdapat perbedaan yang khas dari tipologi arsitektur masjid, yang disebabkan oleh perbedaan dalam doktrin keagamaan.Kata kunci: faham/doktrin keagamaan, tradisionalitas, modernitas tipologi arsitektur masjid.
