The article discusses the attitudes of adolescents towards reading on the internet, with particular focus given to strategies for encouraging positive attitudes towards online reading. The importance of skill in locating and understanding online reading material to academic success is examined, and the relationship between online reading ability and overall reading comprehension is touched on. Suggestions for encouraging students to become more comfortable with online reading including facilitating discussion of reading habits, attitudes, and goals in the classroom are also offered.
