Abstract

A study examined current and emerging assessment issues and identifies issues with video assessment of teacher practice. Interest in and pressure for enhanced usage of captured video for external assessment has been spawned by the recent focus on teacher accountability, standards-based teaching, documentation of teacher progress, and performance evidence. However, a number of problematic issues have surfaced related to video assessment of teacher practice.
