Abstract

Of an inclusion in eocene Baltic amber, Weitschatiella elenae gen.n., sp. n. is described and figured. This new genus is placed in the tribe Cantacaderini, subfamily Cantacaderinae of the family Cantacaderidae (sensu LIS, 1999). It is distinguished from the three genera of presently recognized extant Cantacaderini: Cantacader AMYOT & SERVILLE (Africa, Eurasia, Australia), Pseudophatnoma BLÖTE (Oriental Region), Teratocader DRAKE (Malaysia), and Paleocader FROESCHNER, the only fossil genus of this tribe described of Baltic amber, by a set of characters.
