Abstract

The Wharton e-Business Initiative is a partnership between business leaders, Wharton faculty and students to generate and disseminate new knowledge about e-business through research, academic programs and strategic partnerships. The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania is recognized around the world for its academic strengths across every major discipline and at every level of business education. Founded in 1881 as the first collegiate business school in the nation, Wharton has approximately 4,600 undergraduate, MBA, and doctoral students, more than 8,000 participants in its executive education programs annually, and an alumni network of more than 75,000 worldwide. www.wharton.upenn.edu More than 75 senior Wharton faculty and industry experts will lead the program and serve as advisors to participants. Participants will benefit from B2B & B2C simulations, team projects and access to Wharton faculty and research. Following graduation, the participants are inducted into the Wharton Society of Fellows and become part of a community of lifelong learners in which they continue to interact (in person and electronically) with one another and participating faculty. A third program will begin in Fall 2001.
