Abstract

This article describes each stage of the process of writing for professional publications. Tips for planning, writing, and submitting a publishable manuscript are discussed in detail. Specific guidelines that could improve acceptance of the manuscript are also outlined. Several tables provide information tailored to health care professionals who work in the areas of pain management, hospice, or palliative care. © 2003 by the American Society of Pain Management Nurses.
