Abstract

The molecule of the title compound, C6H8N 2O, is almost planar; the hydroxymethyl group deviates slightly from the plane of the ring. The molecules are linked into a chain running along the α-axis direction by an O - H⋯N hydrogen bond. N - H⋯O and N - H⋯N hydrogen bonds connect the chains, forming a molecular layer parallel to the (001) plane. A C - H⋯π interaction is also observed in the layer. © 2006 International Union of Crystallography. All rights reserved.
