Abstract

The aim of the presented paper was to design a suitable algorithm for calculation of performance standards and estimate of financial damage caused by timber harvester technology use, as well as its graphical definition. The method of Unified Modeling Language (UML), with the so-called UML diagrams, was used for the graphic modeling of the algorithm design. Thus, designed algorithm was transcribed from the graphic UML model by a suitable program sequence into the PHP programming language. To record the sequence of ordered actions, structured programming method combined with elements of the object-oriented approach in the PHP programming language was used. Resulting output is a web application VNHU, version 1.0, which is freely accessible on the Internet under the third-order domain on http://vnhu.forestoffice. eu. At present, the 0.1 version offers three basic groups of standards: Harvesting, Forwarding, and Financial Estimate of Damage. The VNHU 1.0 application is being used by two companies that own harvester junctions. Its operationality has been verified and tested not only in an environment simulation laboratory on a multi-operation machinery simulator but also under actual operating conditions.
