Abstract

This study aimed to verify the effect of two training methodologies for the improvement of the corporal static balance, using the elastic bed (CE) and t he pancafit (PF). 24 men and 18 women of a 133 militaries of Brazilian Army were randomily selected to participate in this study. They all practice military physical training three times a week, at the average age of 30,2 (± 2,6 years), body mass of 68,8 (±14.1 kg), stature 1,75 (±0,5 m) and body fat percentage of 13,5 (± 4.0%). There were three group: CE physical training group, PF physical training group and control group (GC) which was not involved in any specific training for corporal static balance. For one month, the researcher led the physical training two times a week, 45 minutes a day. For corporal balance evaluation were used a Lizard force platform and a software Lizard 4,0. An improvement at the capacity of corporal balance was noticed in both methodologies at the velocity (CE × GC = 0,006/PF × GC = 0,028) and amplitude (CE × GC = 0.001/PF × GC = 0,001) of displacement of the center of gravity (p < 0.05).
