Abstract

A general solution has been found for an equation describing batch grinding kinetics, based on the assumption that in disintegrating a single particle the size distribution of fragments can be described by the Goden-Schuhmann-Andreev equation. The asymptotes of this solution have been studied for long residence times and shown to be of a self-similar and universal nature. Some practical implications of these results are examined. © 1992.
