Abstract

The article focuses on nanotechnology, its growth and present state and the need for modification in the current intellectual property structures. Early explorers of the technology have been awarded numerous patents of the inventions in the field. Many commentators have expressed concern about this patent thicket in the hands of a few and expressed concern that it will lead to stagnation of the technology and choke future innovation. The pace of development and the rapid progress in innovation need a law which will spur the development to great heights.
