To practice critical thinking, students need to \nparticipate in the discourse of the discipline--to think, \nspeak, and be listened to as they participate in the \ndiscipline's particular mode of inquiry. Students will \nnot get enough practice just by talking to the \ninstructor, and very little by just listening to the \ninstructor.
