Abstract

An analysis is presented of the parasitic coupling between a printed circuit dipole suspended above a coplanar strip transmission line. The dipole is centered over and is perpendicular to the transmission line. This configuration occurs in antenna arrays which use parasitic dipole elements, such as the Barbano log-periodic array. This analysis show that there is significant coupling between a printed dipole and a coplanar strip transmission line, which cannot be ignored in the analysis of arrays which use this type of element.
